Mind Body and Spirit

As we come to realize that we are complex beings in which our mind, body and spirit are inextricably woven, we are also questioning the wisdom of separating each of the three and entrusting them to so-called experts. Psychiatrists look after mind, doctors after body, and ministers after spirit, but are they so fundamentally different? In the view of the editors, holism and holistic health involve the unity of mind, body and spirit, and this book presents a framework to help orientate the reader’s thinking towards a cohesive concept of health, healing and wholeness. Among the forms of healing and health care examined in the book are natural childbirth, yoga, meditation, herbalism, biofeedback, kinesiology, Oriental medicine and reflexology.
