Beyond Yin and Yang

This book traces the beginnings of acupuncture and its spread to the United States. The first chapter is devoted to an historical summary explanation of the metaphysical and theoretical foundations of Chinese acupuncture. The author explores in detail and clearly presents the neurochemical and neuroanatomical basis for a scientific theory of acupuncture. A strong case is made for the use of electrical stimulation to enhance the acupuncture effect. Other chapters present the techniques and clinical indications for the use of electroacupuncture including possible complications and legal considerations. The book concludes with speculations about future uses of the technique.
